چکیده
PurposeHeart transplantation utilizing Donation after Circulatory Death (DCD) donors are increasing but data remain limited. We sought to evaluate heart transplant survival and outcomes of LVAD patients transplanted with DCD donor hearts in a large national registry.MethodsUsing the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) database, adult ≥ 18 years old listed from 1/1/2019 - 12/31/2021 supported an were evaluated. Patients categorized DBD (donation brain death) groups. Recipient characteristics at time post-transplant compared between groups.ResultsOf 2281 patients, majority (96%, N=2179) 102 donors. In group, most common recipient blood type was O (66%). Compared no-DCD commonly UNOS status 4 (55.88%) had shorter days on wait list (114 vs. 200 days). The one-year not statistically different (92% 90%; p=0.5, Figure). There more episodes acute rejection (31% 19%; p=0.004) without differences graft failure (p=0.281) or frequency re-transplantation group (p=0.338). significant reduction hospital length stay following (18.82 23.97 days, p=0.034) travel distance center (419.8 237.1 nautical miles, p<0.001). Propensity analysis demonstrates no difference one year post (p=0.54).ConclusionHeart favorable. This supports continued use transplant. Heart registry. Using Of (p=0.54).

Valvular heart disease in patients supported with left ventricular assist devices.
Patients with advanced HF and coexisting VHD who undergo LVAD implantation constitute a growing population and pose unique challenges in clinical and surgical management. Contemporary continuous-flow LVADs alter blood flow dynamics and cardiovascular physiology and can induce progression of preexisting VHD or lead to de novo VHD. Although we have defined our recommendations for treatment option...
متن کاملEffects of left ventricular assist devices on outcomes in patients undergoing heart transplantation.
BACKGROUND Left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) are increasingly being used to "bridge" patients to heart transplantation. METHODS Data from 40 consecutive status 1 heart transplantation patients treated with intravenous inotrope therapy (n = 20) or the HeartMate LVAD (n = 20) were retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS Baseline clinical characteristics were similar in the two groups. At the ...
متن کاملLeft Ventricular Assist Device Followed by Heart Transplantation
Since 1994, after the approval of the use of implantable ventricular assist devices (VADs) for long-term therapy in patients with advanced HF in the United States, there has been an increased interest in these devices. Technological improvement of VADs has resulted in the improved survival and quality of life in patients undergoing implantation, and the limitations of HT render these devices as...
متن کاملImprovement of Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) in Artificial Heart Using Particle Swarm Optimization
In this approach, the Left ventricular assist pump for patients with left ventricular failure isused. The failure of the left ventricle is the most common heart disease during these days. Inthis article, a State feedback controller method is used to optimize the efficiency of a samplingpump current. Particle Swarm Algorithm, which is a set of rules to update the position andvelocity, is applied...
